
Chris Faricy is the Hicker Family Professor in Renewing Democratic Community and the Director of the Campbell Public Affairs Institute at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. He is also Co-Director of the United States Policy Agendas Project.
He has published three books: Wide Nets and Narrow Gates: How Democrats and Republicans Draw the Boundaries of Deservingness in American Politics (with Chris Ellis forthcoming with the University of Chicago Press). Welfare for the Wealthy: Parties, Social Spending, and Inequality in the United States (Cambridge University Press 2015) and coauthor of The Other Side of the Coin: Public Opinion Toward Social Tax Expenditures (Russell Sage Foundation 2021). His research areas include public policy, political economy, and public opinion and is broadly interested in examining the politics of economic inequality.
